Luiz wants out as Monchi eyes swap deal – reports

Now, news has broken that Douglas Luiz is allegedly aiming to leave Aston Villa this summer. That is according to a report coming out of Italy [Via Sport Witness] anyway, which claims that the midfielder "has decided to leave Villa Park in the next window" and has been offered to Serie A giants Juventus.

For their part, Juve are already set to lose Adrien Rabiot this summer as his contract expires, and have been chasing a midfielder all season, with Atalanta's Teun Koopmieners among those that they have looked at. Somewhat optimistically, the report claims that Luiz is valued at 40m euros by Villa (£34m), which would seem an unlikely price point for the Brazilian.

Coming off the back of his best ever season and having previously been linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester City, Luiz is under contract at Villa Park until 2026, leaving Villa with the upper hand in any negotiations.

An alternative could be a player swap, with Villa Sporting Director Monchi reportedly keen on two Juve stars this summer. The first comes in the shape of USA midfielder Weston McKennie, who would seemingly be a like-for-like swap with Douglas Luiz given that they play in the same position.

He is down to the last 12 months of his contract in Turin, and Juve are "hoping" to receive around 15m euros (£12m) from his sale this summer should a buyer come forward.

Another player that Villa have their eye on is young maestro Matias Soule, who is returning from a successful loan spell Frosinone. Despite his side being relegated from the top flight, the midfielder put up an impressive 11 goals and three assists in his first full senior season of football.

Juve are also open to selling the Argentine, but are holding out for around 30m euros to part ways with the Aston Villa target this summer, with the 21-year-old contracted to the Old Lady until 2026.

While the valuation of Luiz does appear to be paper talk, Villa's interest in Soule is widely known, while McKennie could prove a savvy budget addition alongside Ross Barkley were they to act on their interest.

Far more concerning for Villa fans is the idea that Luiz has decided to move on, and a swap deal would likely do more harm than good for all parties.

This summer is set to be one of the busiest periods in the recent history of Manchester United.

New ownership comes with new ideas, new standards, and new ways of working, but one thing is clear: Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to return the Red Devils to their glory days.

The rebuild has already begun in regards to the change of staff off the field, and the biggest talking point at the club is the future of Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman is currently uncertain as to whether he’ll be the manager next season, and plenty of his players will also be unsure what their future holds.

Incomings are guaranteed, with targets spanning across the team, but it may be the outgoings that enable them to get deals over the line.

Who could leave Man United this summer

French duo Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane are two high-profile names who have already left the club this month.

The two first-team players struggled with injuries over their time at Old Trafford, and that, combined with their high wages, saw their option of contract renewal ignored.

A whole host of players could follow suit as Ratcliffe wants to undertake a complete overhaul, with Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the list of potential departures, according to reports.

However, this week, another United gem has packed his bags and said farewell to his teammates. Indeed, the extremely talented Omari Forson has headed through the exit door on a free transfer.

The 19-year-old attacker has signed for Serie A side Monza after agreeing terms on a deal until 2028.

Why Forson’s departure could prove to be a mistake

Forson has been regarded as one of the most exciting players in the United academy for the last few years in particular, mainly thriving for the U23s.

The young Englishman made 38 appearances for the U23 team throughout his time at United, scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists in the process.

Last summer, his performances were rewarded by Ten Hag, who included the attacker in his pre-season tour, where he even started the first game against Leeds United.

Forson would go on to play in every game, bar one, and he was even included on the bench for United’s 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

His first taste of competitive action with the senior squad was a small cameo against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup, and just a month later, he made his Premier League debut versus Wolverhampton Wanderers.

During that game, the winger played a role in helping the Red Devils pick up all three points, assisting Kobbie Mainoo for his winner. In April, Forson was handed his first and only Premier League start as a Man United player, featuring on the right against Fulham, where he made one key pass and attempted one strike at goal over his 53 minutes.

The versatile attacker has been previously described as an “outstanding” talent by Everton U21 coach Keith Southern, and to let him leave on a free could be a huge mistake given his potential.

It could be a case that his exit mirrors the error made by Manchester City in letting Cole Palmer go last summer for £40m, however, unlike the Forson situation, the league winners did make a hefty sum.

As we all know, Palmer’s departure could go down as one of the biggest blunders in the Premier League’s recent history, as the England international picked up the Premier League Young Player of the Season award while also scoring 22 goals and registering 12 assists.

Nevertheless, although Forson has yet to show his true quality, it’s clear that he has the potential to be special, and the fact that he has left for nothing could prove to be a huge mistake.

Uma atuação de manual fez o Flamengo virar a decisão na primeira etapa. Após duas chegadas do Vasco logo nos minutos iniciais, o Rubro-Negro assumiu o controle e contou com a inspiração de seus homens da frente. A começar por Victor Hugo, que desencadeou a reação com uma finalização precisa de fora da área, de pé esquerdo, no ângulo do goleiro Allan Vitor: 1 a 0 aos 15 minutos.

O camisa 10 ampliou aos 33, aparecendo entre os dois zagueiros do Vasco para desviar cruzamento de Zé Wellinton: 2 a 0. O Vasco, atordoado pelos gols, ainda sofreu um terceiro golpe antes do intervalo. Petterson recebeu na esquerda, deixou três marcadores para trás e fez o terceiro aos 45, invertendo a situação de início: após o intervalo, era o Vasco que precisava marcar para ser campeão.

Igor entrou no lugar de Lucas Eduardo, mas a mudança do Vasco passou também pela nova postura. Mais agressivo e intenso, o Cruz-Maltino “voltou” ao jogo – que ficou franco e com faltas mais duras. Nearly a year ago Arsenal welcomed the most expensive transfer in their history to the club.

We all know the saga by now. The Gunners fought off strong competition from Manchester City to secure the acquisition of a certain Declan Rice.

It was difficult to agree on terms with West Ham. Understandably, the Hammers wanted as much of the eventual fee upfront as possible.

Eventually, a £105m fee was agreed, smashing the previous record held by £72m Nicolas Pepe. The less said about that situation the better.

Rice has since been a revelation in north London, transforming from a no.6 to a no.8. By the end of the season, he was rampaging forward and even taking set pieces.

As a result, he ended the campaign with career-best figures of seven goals and ten assists. So, wouldn't it be rather nice if Arsenal plucked out another English Premier League star this summer? Of course, it would.

Arsenal want to sign Premier League attacker

What Arsenal plan to do this summer is rather unknown. There are continued links to various centre-forwards, including Sporting CP sensation Viktor Gyokeres.

However, with Gabriel Martinelli under par last term and Bukayo Saka forced to play what felt like every minute, depth in the wide areas is required.

Euro 2024 star Nico Williams is one name to have been linked, but English superstar Eberechi Eze is the latest name to be churned out by the rumour mill.

That's according to one trusted club insider who stated this weekend that Edu and Co were now "looking at" the Crystal Palace ace.

Boasting a £60m price tag, it wouldn't be a transfer that breaks the bank and would be sensible money for such a consistent and exciting performer.

Why Eze would be such a good signing for Arsenal

Arsenal have made a habit of signing ready-made Premier League stars in recent years.

It's been a key strategy for Mikel Arteta and Edu who, let's face it, have taken very few risks. That doesn't mean they've played things safe. You only need to look at the £65m move for Kai Havertz as evidence of that.

Though, the fact of the matter is that if you have top-flight experience in England already, the adaptation time is far less. These players are far more likely to come in and hit the ground running pretty instantly.

Although there was the notable dud of Willian right at the beginning, Arsenal's list above is pretty impressive. David Raya won the Premier League Golden Glove last term, Havertz was a man-possessed up top and as aforementioned, Rice scored the most goals of his career in a single season.

Even Leandro Trossard has become a force to be reckoned with. Only Bukayo Saka (20) scored more goals for the club last season than the Belgian (17).

There is no guarantee Eze would do the same as those players but his experience should prove key.

Importantly, he's also been pretty damn good in England's top division. Last season he was undoubtedly Crystal Palace's star man, scoring 11 goals and registering six assists in all competitions.

For context, only striker Jean-Philippe Mateta was involved in more goals for the Eagles throughout 2023/24 than Eze.

As a result of such an impressive campaign, he was named in the England squad for Euro 2024. Although he is yet to start a game, he has actually played which is more than can be said for the likes of Cole Palmer and Anthony Gordon.

Ranking within the top 8% of positionally similar players in the league last season for successful take-ons and among the best 12% for key passes, this is evidently a particularly lively player.

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil described him as one of "the best in the Premier League" last term and it's clear on the above evidence why he was given that billing.

So, like Rice, this would surely be an extremely safe deal to conclude. An English homegrown talent who's lighting it up in the Premier League for a mid-table side, there are plenty of parallels with the deal that brought West Ham's former captain to the Emirates Stadium a year ago.

كشف أحمد جاب الله طبيب النادي الأهلي، عن تشخيص إصابة لاعب الفريق الأول، المغربي رضا سليم، التي تعرض لها في مباراة شباب بلوزداد الجزائري، اليوم الأحد.

وكان رضا سليم غادر مباراة الأهلي وشباب بلوزداد في الدقيقة 41 من عمر الشوط الأول، متأثرًا بإصابة عضلية.

وقال جاب الله خلال تصريحات عبر الموقع الرسمي للأهلي: “رضا سليم اشتكى من آلام في الركبة خلال مشاركته في مباراة شباب بلوزداد”.

وأضاف: “اللاعب سوف يخضع لفحص طبي غدًا الإثنين، للتأكد من حاجته لإجراء آشعة من عدمه”.

وحقق الأهلي فوزًا كبيرًا على شباب بلوزداد، بنتيجة 6-1، في اللقاء الذي أقيم بينهما، ضمن مواجهات الجولة الثالثة لبطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

Defending champions Northern continued their ominous start to the National T20 Cup with a third straight win, besting Central Punjab by 35 runs. CP lost seven wickets for 30 runs in the space of 41 balls while chasing a moderate total of 155, ending up being bowled out for 120 with nearly two overs to spare.No batsman other than Abid Ali (36 off 33 balls) was able to establish control during the chase. The innings broadly centred around the opener, who hung around until the 13th over, but when he edged behind to fast bowler Mohammad Musa, CP began to run into trouble. Haider was fined 30% of his applicable match fee for a Level 1 offence relating to showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during a match.The incident occurred in the ninth over of Northern’s innings when Haider showed his bat to the umpire, which was deemed as a disagreement over the decision, after being adjudged LBW on an Usman Qadir’s delivery. Haider was charged for the violation of Article 2.8 by on-field umpires Aftab Gillani and Faisal Khan Afridi. Haider pleaded guilty and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Iftikhar Ahmed.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beat Southern Punjab by 6 runs
In the evening game, half centuries by Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Hafeez set up a six-run win for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over Southern Punjab. Southern Punjab needed 22 off the final over and six off the last ball to tie the game, but when Saif Badar failed to deliver, it condemned South Punjab to their third straight defeat.Chasing 201, Southern Punjab began crisply with 14 off the first over, but regular wickets hampered their cause. None of the top three managed 20, with Shan Masood, Zeeshan Ashraf and Umer Siddiq falling early. But Hussain Talat’s 22-ball 38 and Sohaib Maqsood combined for a 78-run partnership to keep the chase on track. Maqsood – hitting his second fifty in his third game – smashed 77 off 40 balls, but once Wahab Riaz cleaned him up, the wickets continued to fall and the game began to slip away from the home side.Put in to bat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s innings was set up thanks to a 100-run partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Hafeez, which came off just 55 balls. It was followed up by a blistering cameo from Iftikhar Ahmed at the death, his 20-ball 45 ensuring KP managed to get to 200. Southern Punjab’s bowlers found it hard work, with the exception of Mohammad Irfan, who gave away 29 in his four, but for the third game in a row, the home side ended up on the wrong side of a high-scoring fixture.
