So it’s important that the top order – one of them – takes the responsibility of playing through the innings and there has to be a partnership or two of 50, so that you know if we get to play more, the top order contributes. I think that way we would be able to score 250-270. It is very rarely that middle order or the lower middle order scores the bulk of the runs, so it’s important that as a batting unit, all of us take the responsibility of playing our roles.”Though India lost the points-based multi-format series against Australia, they made headway on several fronts. Matt Henry recorded the joint-third-best figures by a New Zealand bowler with a career-best 7 for 23, including three wickets in the same over, to dismiss South Africa for their lowest total against New Zealand and lowest in 23 Tests. On a seamer-friendly Christchurch surface, Henry made use of the movement and bounce and almost single-handedly bowled South Africa out for 95, their lowest total batting first since 1932. In so doing, Henry registered the best bowling figures against South Africa since 1915. And if the historical data is not enough to underline New Zealand’s dominance of the opening day, their top four wiped out the deficit inside 34 overs, and took the lead by the close of play.The Test match got underway at midnight South African time and anyone who stayed up might have wondered if it was the team, and not them, who were sleep deprived. Not only did no-one score more than Zubayr Hamza’s 25 but they also dropped four chances in the field in an underwhelming showing, especially coming off their series win against India. South Africa are notorious slow starters and were made to look even slower by a clinical and energetic New Zealand side.Henry, who did not play in New Zealand’s last five Tests and was a replacement for paternity leave absentee Trent Boult, set the tone when he nipped out three of the top four in the morning session. كما واصل التونسي أحمد الجفالي لاعب الفريق برنامجه التأهيلي على هامش مران تحت قيادة علاء رجب مخطط الأحمال، لتجهيزه للمشاركة في التدريبات الجماعية في أقرب وقت ممكن، بعدما تعرض لإصابة بتمزق في العضلة الخلفية في وقت سابق.
يذكر، أن لقاء الذهاب بين الزمالك وستيلينبوش الذي أقيم في كيب تاون يوم الأربعاء الماضي كان انتهى بالتعادل السلبي بين الفريقين.

Ultimately, following Celtic’s Champions League play-off round defeat to Malmö in 2016, van Dijk was sold to Southampton for around £13m, before then moving to Liverpool for then moving to Liverpool for £75m, at the time becoming the most expensive defender in history, with the Hoops reportedly pocketing more than £6m through a sell-on clause.

When Jeremie Frimpong arrived at Celtic from Manchester City for a mere £300,000, he was just 18-years old and had never made a senior appearance in his life.
However, he instantaneously became a fans’ favourite, actually named Celtic’s Young Player of the Year by supporters following his debut campaign in Glasgow.
During that season’s League Cup Final, Frimpong was sent off for committing a last-man foul on Rangers’ striker Alfredo Morelos.
However, Fraser Forster saved the subsequent spot-kick, with Lennon’s side holding on for a famous 1-0 victory over their fiercest rivals in the pouring rain, with Frimpong giving this post-match interview to BT Sport, which will forever endear him to the fanbase.
The club even launched a range of “Oh My Days” t-shirts with Frimpong, enthusiastically as ever, saying: “I never expected to have my own t-shirt, I’m really happy about it!”.

As it happens, this week, it was announced that Frimpong has been shortlisted by FIFA’s The Best for the best defender in the world award, a selection of 22 nominees that actually features Celtic’s current incumbent at right-back Alistair Johnston, as well as some slightly more high-profile names.
That being said, it doesn’t feature a certain Van Dijk, suggesting that the game’s biggest organisation see Frimpong ahead of him at this stage of their two careers.
The right-back, still only 23-years old, looks set to be the next sensation that no one can quite believe used to play for Celtic.

Newcastle United are being frustrated by a lack of synergy that is hampering Eddie Howe’s side. There’s no bite in the Magpies’ attack and little inspiration in the build-up anyway.
New heights have been reached in the Premier League across recent years, but the Champions League qualification of 2022/23 looks a long distance away, even if a squad of talented parts has been fashioned.
It’s clear that moves need to be made in the transfer market, but, moreover, Howe must ensure that the remaining bits of flotsam are shipped off.
The St. James' Park deadweight
Newcastle haven’t quite stagnated but it’s patent that without investment, those at the top of the English ladder will not be surpassed.
For example, the Magpies reportedly have a vested interest in Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, who is dangerous centrally and out wide but will perhaps need to offload Miguel Almiron, as they are allegedly prepared to do, to facilitate such an ambitious winter venture.

Kieran Trippier, aged 34, is also available for transfer this January, with the right-back’s reduced role not matching up with his hefty £120k-per-week contract.
There are further fringe players who need selling, but Isaac Hayden should be right at the top of that list, for he is out on the margins with little chance of returning to first-team action.

Last season, Hayden sat in the shadows for Newcastle before moving to Queens Park Rangers in the Championship in January 2024 in a short-term loan deal, starting 12 matches.
While the English midfielder featured prominently throughout the opening terms of his Toon career, his influence quickly petered out and he has since been a non-entity, with pundit Noel Whelan saying in 2022 that Hayden, Dwight Gayle and Ciaran Clark had “served their purpose” at St. James’ Park.
His impact has indeed been negligible since PIF arrived at the club, and lifted the Magpies back up.
Indeed, though former boss Rafa Benitez once noted that he was a prospect with “fantastic potential” following his £2.5m transfer from Arsenal way back when, it’s hard to argue that he’s been anything other than a flop over the past four years.
Still the 29-year-old remains. It’s questionable that he was rewarded with a new six-year contract in 2020 despite spinning away from the spotlight, having actually only started four Premier League matches since that point.

He’s not the highest earner in Newcastle’s squad by half, but Hayden still takes home a neat wage at £50k per week, and PIF must ensure that this sizeable weekly drainage is plugged by his sale next summer.

Further to the point, he’s taking up valuable space in Howe’s broader squad that could perhaps be provided to a younger, more robust midfielder, capable of playing a significant part in the years to come.
Hayden is in the penultimate year of his contract, and thus could still fetch a small figure in 2025. Howe needs to get it done. Causality determines that a chain of events could be set in motion, and perhaps a significant upgrade could alight on Tyneside thereafter.
