O ano de 2017 reserva muitos desafios à Chapecoense. Sem contar com praticamente todo o seu elenco e comissão técnica em função do acidente aéreo que vitimou 71 pessoas na última terça-feira, o clube terá que se recompor num tempo recorde para poder enfrentar os sete campeonatos que disputará no próximo ano.

Nesta segunda-feira, com a confirmação da Conmebol de que o título da Sul-Americana ficará mesmo com o Verdão do Oeste, a Chape, automaticamente, se classifica para a Recopa e também para a fase de grupos da Libertadores. Desta forma, o time catarinense terá que conciliar o calendário com a disputa do Campeonato Brasileiro, Estadual, Copa Libertadores, Primeira Liga, Copa do Brasil, Recopa e Copa Suruga.

A Chape será o clube com o calendário mais pesado e a tendência é que dispute no mínimo 72 jogos. Caso avance às fases finais de cada competição que permite classificação, o número pode aumentar para 93.

A quantidade de jogos da equipe catarinense é preocupante neste momento em que incertezas definem o planejamento para 2017. Para se ter um comparativo, o Palmeiras, que é o atual campeão brasileiro e que disputará quatro competições no ano que vem, terminaria 2017 com 80 jogos no máximo.

يحوم الغموض حول سبب غياب اللاعب كوستاس تسيميكاس عن مباراة اليوم بين فريقي ليفربول ووست هام، في بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

ويلتقي الفريقان بعد قليل على ملعب الأنفيلد في إطار منافسات الجولة الثامنة والعشرين من البريميرليج.

ولم يتواجد تسيميكاس في قائمة ليفربول التي أعلن عنها يورجن كلوب لملاقاة وست هام، سواء في التشكيل الأساسي أو دكة البدلاء.

وذكرت شبكة “ليفربول إيكو” الإنجليزية أنه لا يوجد سبب واضح حتى الآن فيما يتعلق بالدافع وراء غياب تسيميكاس عن مباراة الليلة.

وأوضحت أنه ليس من المعروف ما إذا كان الظهير اليوناني قد تعرض لإصابة في التدريبات قبل المباراة، أم أن قرار استبعاده جاء من أجل إراحته فقط.

In an exclusive interview with Transfer Tavern, Steve Bull, who made 561 appearances for Wolves, has claimed that his former club were interested in Tammy Abraham but his price tag may have put them off.

Abraham has reportedly been made available this summer, however Chelsea are wanting to receive £40 million for the England international and Wolves are one of several teams credited with an interest in the striker.

Nuno Espirito Santo may want to have more than just Raul Jimenez as a reliable striker option going into next season after he has seen how poor Wolves have been without their talisman.

Speaking on how Wolves were interested in a move for Abraham and why they have been put off by his large price tag, Bull exclusively told The Transfer Tavern:

“I think there were talks early on this season about Wolves going in for him but I think the price tag put them off because it was about £40 million, but for me I think £40 million is absolutely nothing these days for a proven striker.

“I think he is someone that could settle in our side, but when Jimenez comes back he’s going to get straight back in the team so it’s up to the club whether or not they want to pay that much for a second striker.”

Abraham enjoyed a great season last year under Frank Lampard but since the former Chelsea midfielder was sacked and replaced by Thomas Tuchel, the striker has found game time difficult to come by.

Tuchel has favoured playing Kai Havertz or Timo Werner as their focal point over both Abraham and Olivier Giroud with the latter’s contract set to expire this summer.

Barry Fry has exclusively told The Transfer Tavern that Peterborough United will be forced to sell Rangers target Jonson Clarke-Harris this summer.

The 26-year-old is already a man in demand having scored 31 goals last season to help Posh end their long wait to bring Championship football back to London Road.

Clarke-Harris, who notched 33 goals in all competitions, has interest from several second-tier sides, although Scottish Premiership champions Rangers are also keen on the ex-Bristol Rovers frontman.

Steven Gerrard reportedly sent scouts to London Road to watch the striker play against Accrington Stanley in March, and he impressed by scoring a hat-trick in their 7-0 victory.

Peterborough sold Ivan Toney this time 12 months ago, with Clarke-Harris likely to join a long list of goalscorers that Posh have lost to bigger clubs in recent seasons.

And despite scoring the goals which saw the club promoted, Director of Football Fry told The Transfer Tavern that whilst he would love to keep Clarke-Harris, they’re resigned to losing him in the coming months:

“How can you stand in their way, because it not only affects their life, it affects their families, their parents and grandparents. It is life-changing and we must do it.

That’s according to a report by West London Sport, who claim that Mark Warburton does not look likely to offer the 23-year-old a new deal at the club, with his current contract expiring next month.

Having moved to QPR from Linfield FC in what was a £225k deal back in 2017, it would be a fair assessment to make that Smyth has not quite lived up to expectations in west London.

Despite getting off to the perfect start in his career with the Rs, scoring on his debut against Cardiff City, the Northern Ireland international failed to cement a place in the first-team, scoring one further goal and providing one assist over his total of 13 Championship appearances in the 2017/18 season.

A series of loan moves followed, with the £4.8k-per-week striker scoring six goals and providing six assists over 37 appearances during two spells at Accrington Stanley, bagging one goal and registering two assists over 21 fixtures for Wycombe Wanderers and netting one goal and providing two assists over 14 appearances with Charlton.

As can be seen, these returns – while playing at a lower level than the Championship – are not exactly breathtaking, despite the fact that Lee Bowyer dubbed the forward an “excellent” player during his time at The Valley.

As such, it would very much appear the right move for Warburton to allow Smyth to move onto pastures new this summer, as the 23-year-old simply does not appear to have what it takes to make it in the Rs’ first team.

Meanwhile, his rather hefty weekly wage could also easily be spent elsewhere by the 58-year-old manager, who will be looking to build a team capable of a push for promotion ahead of next season.

جاء هجوم الجماهير على نيمار وميسي بعد توديع دوري أبطال أوروبا يوم الأربعاء الماضي على يد ريال مدريد، في دور الـ16.

وأوضحت أن نيمار لم يتقدم بطلب إلى مسؤولي باريس سان جيرمان للسماح برحيله في الصيف المقبل، ولم يكشف عن رغبته تلك للإدارة في الوقت الحالي.

وأفادت إنه في الوقت نفسه، لم يوضح أي من مسؤولي باريس سان جيرمان رغبته في الاستغناء عن خدمات البرازيلي نهاية الموسم الحالي.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s sudden departure from Wolves last Friday sent shockwaves around the Premier League, not least legendary striker Steve Bull.

The Portuguese manager was approaching the end of his fourth campaign at Molineux and had recently guided the club to Premier League safety once again.

Less than 10 months ago, Santo led Wolves to a second consecutive seventh-place finish and the quarter finals of the Europa League, but moments after conducting his press conference for the final-day visit of Manchester United, he announced that he’d be leaving his post.

Santo was appointed prior to the 2017-2018 campaign and turned Wolves into Championship winners in their first season, before a seventh-place finish saw them qualify for Europe for the first time for more than 20 years.

But the previous season has proved a challenging one for the 47-year-old, who’s struggled without his talisman Raul Jimenez, with Wolves’ league form suffering as a result.

Wolves managed just 12 Premier League victories all season, and only six in their final 25 matches, leading to Santo’s exit on Friday.

And Bull told Football FanCast that he was as stunned as anyone that Santo decided to call it a day:

“Oh my word! You can ask anybody in the football world, that would have been the unlikeliest thing to happen at Wolves.

“It’s a shock to everybody, I thought he was here for the longer haul, like an Alex Ferguson type, but obviously the club has got different opinions.”
