Opening the batting, the 20-year old made a superb 115 and later on took 3 wickets for 37 runs to write his name in the elite club of all-rounders scoring a century and also taking three or more wickets in the same match.It was actually the 11th such performance by the 9th player in the history of shorter version of the game, with Nathan Astle and Viv Richards doing so twice.Curiously enough, Shoaib who became the first Pakistani to do so, however also provided the 13th instance of a Pakistani scoring a fifty or more besides taking three or more wickets in the match too.For the interest of the readers here are more details:

Pundit Noel Whelan has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur winger Jack Clarke may not have a future at the club, amid suggestions he could be farmed out on loan again in 2021/22.

Looking towards 2021/22, Spurs fans will be desperate to see how newly appointed Nuno Espirito Santo sculpts his squad, as they look to challenge for qualification to one of Europe’s elite competition this time around.

Acquiring high-profile signings will be important to this, but development of current players will also be a crucial factor in Nuno’s progression at the club.

The Latest: Whelan questions Clarke as he gets set to depart on loan

Clarke looks set to be sent out on loan for the forthcoming campaign unless he works his way into Nuno’s plans come pre-season [Alasdair Gold, Football London].

Speaking about the prospects of the tricky winger in an interview with Football Insider, Whelan stated: “I’m not sure if he has a future at Tottenham.

“The fact that he keeps getting sent out on loan suggests to me that he doesn’t have a long-term future there. It is a really difficult one.

“He was fantastic for Leeds but you could see that there were a few frailties in his game. The big question was whether he could make that step up to the top flight so early in his career.

“He has loads of talent but sometimes the mental side of the game is more important than a step-over. You need to work tirelessly every day and put yourself in a position where the manager cannot ignore you.

“Another season where the pressure is on. He needs to prove that he is good enough to play for Tottenham.

“Right now is crunch time for him. You cannot keep going out on loan every season.”

The Verdict: Loan move is not the end

Whelan correctly points out the pressures players need to come under in order to succeed at the highest level of football, but that doesn’t mean the youngster is running out of time in north London.

In 2020/21, he made a combined 25 appearances for Spurs, Spurs Under-23’s and Stoke City, who he spent the second half of the campaign on loan with. He registered five goal contributions; two goals and three assists [Transfermarkt].

Age is still on his side though and he has lots of time to develop into a top-class asset – every player develops at a different rate.

All things considered, frequent first-team football may suit the Englishman best and if Nuno likes what he sees from afar then another temporary move could be what pushes Clarke into the manager’s plans in 2022.

Leonardo Spinazzola, another of Italy’s most outstanding individual players, is third on the podium with 15% of the vote despite missing the final two games through injury.

Spanish wonderkid Pedri (13%), Czech Republic goal machine Patrik Schick (12%) and England centre-back Harry Maguire (10%) make up the rest of the nominees.

A genuine allrounder, he has taken over 200 wickets in all forms of cricket including 5-9 against Durham earlier this season in the Norwich Union League.Chief Executive Mark Newton said, "The award of this Benefit Year is a tribute to David’s long and successful career with the County and I feel sure the Worcestershire Cricketing Public will support him well."

Everton will not sell talisman Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Chelsea or any other club this summer, says former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer.

Calvert-Lewin, part of that England squad who managed to reach the Euro 2020 final, had a fantastic campaign last season.

The 24-year-old striker managed to score 21 goals in all competitions, which does not seem to have gone unnoticed.

According to recent reports in Italy (via the Daily Star), Chelsea could turn their attention to Calvert-Lewin in their search for a new No.9. And based on the previous season, you can understand the thinking – if there actually is serious interest.

Palmer, however, feels a transfer for the England international this summer is highly unlikely.

“Why go to Chelsea if you’re not going to play?” the ex-Leeds United player said in an exclusive interview with FFC. “I can’t believe Everton would let him go anyhow. 

“There’s always going to be speculation about players, but I can’t believe Everton are going to let him go. Rafa Benitez has come in there; he’s not going to let him go.”

All in all, this one certainly does look unlikely. Chelsea seem to be putting all their eggs in one basket with Borussia Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland, while Everton will simply not want to sell their top scorer from last season.

زعمت صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية أن هناك اتفاقًا قد حدث بالفعل بين نادي ريال مدريد وجناح الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي باريس سان جيرمان، كيليان مبابي، للانتقال إلى قلعة “سانتياجو برنابيو” في الميركاتو الصيفي المقبل.

وأعلن مبابي يوم أمس، الأحد، أنه قد حسم قراره بشأن وجهته المقبلة في حفل رابطة الدوري الفرنسي وسيعلنه قبل الانضمام لمعسكر منتخب بلده في بداية شهر يونيو.

مر مسلسل صفقة مبابي بالعديد من الأحداث والتي شهدت الكثير من الضغوط على اللاعب وصلت إلى رئيس فرنسا، إيمانويل ماكرون، الذي كان يحاول إقناع مهاجم باريس سان جيرمان بالاستمرار مع فريقه وتمديد عقده.

ولكن كان هناك هدوء من قبل رئيس ريال مدريد، فلورنتينو بيريز، طوال الموسم ولم يطلب من اللاعب التعبير عن أي شيء في وسائل الإعلام، لكنه كان يراهن على التزام اللاعب ورغبته في اللعب في “سانتياجو برنابيو”.

لم يتحرك بيريز أبدًا حتى مع بداية العام الجديد وإمكانية التفاوض المباشر مع مبابي، كانت اتصالات رئيس ريال مدريد مع المقربين من اللاعب لمحاولة إقناعه بالمجيء إلى الملكي.

تواجد مبابي في العاصمة الإسبانية “مدريد” قبل أيام أنهى كل الشكوك لدى ريال مدريد، وبدا الأمر واضحًا حيث تولي المدير العام لنادي ريال مدريد، خوسيه آنخل سانشيز، زمام المفاوضات مع اللاعب وأجل كل الأمور الأخرى في تلك الأيام، لأن صفقة مبابي كانت تستحق كل هذا الاهتمام.

توصل ريال مدريد لاتفاق مع مبابي وحصل النادي الإسباني على موافقة اللاعب، لكن طلب المقربون من الفرنسي أن يتم تأجيل أي إعلان حتى نهاية كل مباريات باريس سان جيرمان لاحترام الجميع، لكن كل شيء قد انتهى وسيبقى ريال مدريد هادئًا وينتظر اللاعب.

هناك مبالغ كبيرة سيدفعها ريال مدريد منها راتب مبابي ومكافأة التوقيع بالمجان ولكنها بعيدة عن المبلغ الذي كان يرغب النادي في دفعه لصالح باريس سان جيرمان في الموسم الماضي والذي كان سيصل إلى 200 مليون يورو.

سيوقع مبابي على عقد رسمي مع ريال مدريد لمدة 5 سنوات، سيكون مصحوبًا بشرط جزائي بملايين الدولارات، وبالتأكيد سيكون راتبه أقل بكثير مما عرضه باريس سان جيرمان بقيمة 50 مليون يورو سنويًا.
