Stuart Broad has insisted England’s bowlers were right to skip the IPL to ensure they remain fresh for international duty despite criticism from Kevin Pietersen that it will leave them playing catch-up at the World Twenty20 in West Indies.Although five of England’s squad for the tournament are currently in India -Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Eoin Morgan, Michael Lumb and Ravi Bopara – they are all members of the top order while the bowlers have been resting tired or injured limbs after the winter.Broad would have been likely to secure major interest from an IPL franchise but he took the decision to skip the tournament for the second time, with a view to his England commitments in the year ahead, which include the Ashes tour in November. James Anderson could probably have fetched an IPL contract if he so wished but missed the tour of Bangladesh to recover from the knee injury which troubled him in South Africa, while Tim Bresnan wasn’t picked up at auction.”I’ve been back bowling for two sessions and we’ve got warm-up matches [in West Indies] before the Twenty20,” Broad said. “It would obviously have been good to have played a bit more Twenty20 cricket leading into the World Cup, but I thought I needed a bit of a rest and Jimmy had a bit of a niggle. I feel better for having the break ahead of a busy international summer and the winter.”However, Broad still aims to join the IPL at some point in his career, although if he maintains his stance of putting his international role first, it will prove hard to find time. Lalit Modi, the IPL commissioner, has said next year’s tournament will start a few days after the World Cup finishes in April. “It’s certainly something I’ll look to do in the future because to improve as an England side the players will have to play a bit more,” he said.England’s bowlers are being carefully managed at the start of the domestic season with Broad, who lost 4kgs during his Bangladesh exertions, still being rested – along with Graeme Swann – from Nottinghamshire duty, although Anderson is playing for Lancashire against Warwickshire this week before his workload is reassessed.”It’s a bit more hectic on your body as a fast bowler rather than a batsman,” said Broad at the launch of the PCA’s MVP rankings. “I know a lot of batsmen, when they are in form, just like to keep hitting balls, but as a bowler you can’t bowl every day because you’ll break down. There is a balance but we get looked after fantastically by all the medical staff to make sure we stay on the park.”When England’s bowling unit heads out to West Indies they will be under the wing of a new coach after David Saker’s appointment last week. So far the players have admitted not knowing much about him, but Broad hopes to tap into a little local knowledge from his Nottinghamshire (and former England) team-mate Darren Pattinson.”Darren has worked with him at Victoria so I’ll have a word with him,” said Broad, who was yesterday named one of ‘s five Cricketers of the Year. “I assume he’s coming with us to the Twenty20 but I’m not sure. I’m looking forward to working with him, he comes with a really good reputation and some people have some fine words to say about him.”Broad’s form and fitness will be key for England at the World Twenty20 as they aim to end their drought at global events. They remain the only one of the eight long-term international nations not to have won a trophy and Broad knows that needs to change.”It’s something we have talked about and we need to get on the board,” he said. “That can start in the next couple of weeks, but we aren’t going to put extra pressure on ourselves by thinking we haven’t won these sorts of tournaments before. If we can get a good start and carry the momentum through it’s a short tournament and you can go all the way.”

وقال دياب في تصريحات تلفزيونية بفضائية “أون تايم”: “تلقينا خطابًا من النادي الأهلي، وبدأنا التحرك بشأنه، ولدينا موافقة على حضور 6 آلاف مشجع في كل مباراة، 3 آلاف لكل ناد، وكل المؤسسات المسؤولة عن ملف الجماهير على مسافة واحدة من كل أندية الدوري وتريد مصلحتهم”.

وأضاف: “ندرس في الفترة الحالية طلب النادي الأهلي، وأرسلنا لكل الجهات ونحن على مسافة واحدة من الجميع، وندرس الأمر من كل الجوانب وما يهم الناس هي الثوابت”.

واستأنف: “وارد أن تكون الصور أظهرت العدد أكبر، ووارد من زاوية أخرى تختلف الأمور، ونبحث حاليًا خطاب الأهلي، وطلبنا مقاطع مصورة من التلفزيون وراسلنا استاد المقاولون العرب، وبعد ذلك سنرد على النادي الأهلي”.

وعن أزمة البث وحقوق الأندية منه التي أثارت جدلاً واسعاً خلال الفترة الماضية على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، قال: “بيع البث فردي، ولكن كل ناد يحتفظ بعلامته التجارية دون تدخل من الرابطة أو اتحاد الكرة”.

وواصل: “كل الأرقام المطروحة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي بشأن ما يتقاضاه الأهلي أو الزمالك من حقوق البث غير دقيقة، لأن الأرقام في التعاقدات بين الشركة والأندية بها سرية معلومات”.

وتابع: “الأندية تخسر عندما تعتمد على مداخيل الشركة الراعية فقط، والحل الوحيد هو إنشاء شركات لكرة القدم في الأندية من أجل وضع ميزانية خاصة للكرة، ونسير في هذا الاتجاه، وهذا سيسبب تراجع تعاقدات اللاعبين شيئًا فشيء، وهذه الخطة ستظهر نتائجها بعد 3 سنوات”.

واستكمل: “سيكون هناك تعديل في جدول الدوري تقديم وتأخير على الجولة الثالثة والرابعة، وهذا تنسيق لحدث كبير ومهم سيقام في مصر وهو مؤتمر المناخ وستكون بلدنا محط أنظار العالم كله، وسنعلن عن التعديل صباح اليوم”.

واختتم: “حرصنا على رعاية كل ما يخص منتخب مصر وطلبات فيتوريا قبل ما وضع جدول الدوري”.

Aston Villa have been busier than most teams across the whole of Europe in this January transfer window when it comes to bringing new players to the Midlands club such as Philippe Coutinho, Lucas Digne, Robin Olsen and Calum Chambers.

With that in mind and the fact that the Villans still have some time left to make yet another late swoop after bringing Chambers in from Arsenal just a couple of days ago.

One player that they could try and make a deal for before Monday is Manchester City youngster James McAtee, who has been mentioned to have caught the eye of Villa in recent days thanks to his performances for City’s U23 side.

As a young, English attacking-midfielder, the City prospect could be seen as Steven Gerrard’s own version of former Villa star Jack Grealish, who joined the reigning Premier League champions and current league leaders back in the previous summer transfer window in a deal worth a reported fee of £100m.

Also, with the 19-year-old sharing similar qualities to the former Villa captain in terms of being able to score goals and provide assists with 42 goals and 26 assists under his belt in 84 appearances for City’s youth and senior sides, he could be an exciting talent for Gerrard to have at his disposal.

In terms of a potential late move to Villa, with the teenager, who has been labelled as one of the club’s “exceptional” young talents by Pep Guardiola, only having appeared in three senior games for City so far, he may feel that he would be better off at a Premier League club where he’d be more likely to get some first-team minutes under his belt, which could be at Villa Park should Gerrard see enough potential in him.

In addition to that, with current Villa youngster Carney Chukwuemeka apparently not keen on signing a new deal at the Midlands club due to a lack of regular game time, if he were set to leave Villa, this could pave the way for McAtee to get a shot at impressing in the first team.

Moving forward, before the window closes, Villa should definitely make an approach to City to see what the situation is surrounding the young prospect and if they would be willing to negotiate a deal for him.

If not, McAtee is definitely a player that Villa should keep their eyes on for the future in case his situation at the Manchester club does change.

The Verdict: Simply has to be extend

The idea of Salah moving on, either this summer or when his contract runs out, simply doesn’t bear thinking about, given his vast influence at Liverpool.

He is already undoubtedly one of the all-time great Reds players – his record of 148 goals in 229 appearances is astonishing. He has been hailed as ‘extraordinary’ by former Arsenal striker Ian Wright, and his incredible fitness levels suggest he will remain a top player well into his thirties.

Liverpool’s owners divide opinion amongst the fanbase but failing to sort a new contract for Salah would be inexcusable, potentially even defining their entire reign at the club.

Cork hit five fours and a six off 104 balls as Hampshire made the best of winning the toss on an easy-paced wicket to reach 298 for 7 from 96 overs at stumps.Cork featured in a stand of 100 in 30 overs with South African Neil McKenzie as Hampshire recovered from a middle-order stutter.
