West Ham United have launched as many as five offers for players on transfer deadline day.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a claim made by ExWHUemployee, who revealed in a recent post on The West Ham Way that the Irons have as many as five active deals on the table on the final day of the January transfer window.

In his post, the West Ham insider said: “We have five offers currently in for players and as we hear things we will let you know.”

Moyes is finally acting

Despite it being clear to everyone involved with West Ham, David Moyes included, that the Hammers were in desperate need of both a new centre-back and centre-forward this January, as the clock ticked over to 00:01 on Monday morning, the 58-year-old had yet to make a single signing over the 30 previous days of the month.

It is undeniably good news that Moyes is finally acting in the transfer market, but if the Scot is unable to secure any of the five live deals he is working on today, West Ham’s apparent reluctance to move for any of their targets prior to the final day of the window could very easily come back to haunt the 58-year-old and his transfer team.

However, with the majority of the day still ahead, and the Hammers being linked with some very exciting players in the form of Duje Caleta-Car and Hugo Ekitike, Moyes could still have enough time to bring a number of fresh faces into the London Stadium who could improve the Irons’ first-team squad – although Monday will nevertheless be a very nervy day for West Ham fans.

يرى أحمد حسام ميدو لاعب الزمالك السابق والإعلامي الحالي، أن السويسري مارسيل كولر المدير الفني للأهلي، لم يُبدع حتى الآن مع المارد الأحمر، مُشيرًا إلى أنه مازال يبني أساس الفريق بشكل صحيح.

وقال ميدو في تصريحات عبر برنامجه “الريمونتادا” المُذاع على قناة “المحور”: “كولر حتى الآن لم يُبدع مع الأهلي، ولكنه يقوم بالأساس بشكل صحيح، عكس فيريرا الذي لعب في ثوابت الفريق خلال مواجهة كأس السوبر”.

وتابع: “المدرب السويسري نظرته ثاقبة، وليس أي مدرب سيعطي الفرصة لـ محمود متولي، اللاعب كان سيخرج مُعارا ولكن كولر كسب قلب دفاع يقرأ اللعب بشكل مميز ويبدأ الهجمة بشكل جيد”.

وأضاف: “فيريرا منح الكل درسًا في الموسم الماضي بالتتويج بالألقاب رغم كل الظروف الصعبة التي طاردته، والأخطاء ليست أزمة ولكن لابد من تصحيحها والتعلم منها”.

وتطرق للحديث عن لقطة شيكابالا مع مؤمن زكريا عقب مباراة كأس السوبر، قائلًا: “يجب أن أشكر شيكابالا إنه كل يوم يثبت إنه بني آدم جيد، الكرة ليست حرب، ومشهد شيكا مع مؤمن خير دليل على ذلك، هوموقف محترم من قائد الزمالك”.

واستمر: “كلنا إخوة ويجب أن نتعلم من مثل هذه اللقطات، هذه هي كرة القدم للتسلية فقط مثل السيرك”.

واختتم: “الزمالك سوف يتحسن في الدوري بعد ضياع السوبر أمام الأهلي، وهناك هزائم تجعلك أقوى، الفارس الأبيض سيعود قويًا، وفيريرا يتعلم من أخطائه وسيستفيد من الخسارة أمام المارد الأحمر”.

C Ganapathy, the Tamil Nadu allrounder, has been named as Abhimanyu Mithun’s replacement for India A’s tour of England starting this month. Mithun, the Karnataka fast bowler, was called-up to the senior Indian squad currently on tour in Zimbabwe to replace his state team-mate Vinay Kumar who was injured.An opening bowler and useful lower order batsman, Ganapathy made his mark in the 2008-09 season as a bowler, helping Tamil Nadu make the Ranji semi-finals. The following season, he started contributing more as a batsman, converting his 40s and 50s to centuries and bailing the team out of trouble in crucial situations. He ended the season with 543 runs at 77.57 and 18 wickets at 24.22. He followed it up with a five-wicket haul for South Zone in the Duleep Trophy final and was awarded an IPL contract, though he played just one game for Chennai Super Kings.India A play their first match on tour against Yorkshire at Leeds, a three-day game starting on Saturday.

Australia are hopeful Johnson will be fit for the two Tests against Pakistan that follow the limited-overs portion of the tour.”Mitchell had an infected right elbow during the ICC Twenty20 World Cup, which had resolved towards the end of the tournament,” Alex Kountouris, the team physio, said. “Since returning to Australia he has had a flare-up of the condition and is currently being treated for it.”As part of the treatment he requires specialist medical management over the coming weeks and as such he’s been ruled out of the six ODIs against Ireland and England. According to the Sunday Mirror, via TEAMtalk, the Magpies are keen on a deal to sign the central defender at the end of the season.

The report claims that they will make a move for him if the Cherries fail in their bid to win promotion back to the Premier League.

Forget Clark

Ciaran Clark was recently axed from the club’s 25-man top-flight squad for the rest of the season and Eddie Howe must replace him in the summer by securing a deal to sign Kelly, who he previously signed for Bournemouth.

The Irish Magpies defender has been abysmal this season and it is time to forget about him and start thinking about the heroes of tomorrow. Clark averaged a SofaScore rating of 6.29 in the first half of the campaign, showing that he is far from good enough at this level.

Kelly, meanwhile, has been catching the eye in the Championship. He has averaged a SofaScore rating of 7.06 in the second-tier, helping his side to keep an impressive 12 clean sheets in 22 starts.

Ex-Cherries boss Jonathan Woodgate previously lauded the central defender, saying:

“He’s got talent. He’s got a lot of attributes which Premier League teams look at. But he needs to be consistent week in, week out now.

“At the minute he just looks like a bit of a Rolls-Royce doesn’t he? He looked very, very good (against Bristol City).

“I was impressed to be honest with you, especially when (Antoine) Semenyo tried to run him down the line and Semenyo gave him two yards and Lloydy overtook him. It’s eye-catching when things like that happen, especially as a fellow defender. When you see things like that, it’s like ‘you’ve got a bit’.”

These comments suggest that he has the physical qualities to make the step up to the top-flight, whilst his aforementioned statistics in the Championship show that he is now delivering consistent performances. He is showing that he can be a quality defender week-in-week-out in the second tier and Howe must now secure a deal to bring him to Tyneside.

Kelly could be an excellent addition to the side if he is able to adapt to top-flight football and has plenty of room for further development at the age of 23. He could, therefore, be a signing for the here and now and for the future with his potential to improve.

Hampshire moved off the foot of the County Championship Division One table with their second win of the season, crushing injury-hit Kent by an innings and 111 runs at the Rose Bowl despite late defiance from South African Martin Van Jaarsveld.Kent captain Robert Key broke a finger trying to fend off a delivery from Dominic Cork and last man Amjad Khan was nursing a hamstring problem when he batted with defeat looking inevitable. Hampshire had started the third day on 408 for 5 in their first innings and went on to 553 for 7 before Cork declared for a huge lead of 302.James Vince shared in a stand of 101 with Nic Pothas for the sixth wicket as Kent struggled to cope without Amjad who was only able to bowl eight overs in the Hampshire innings. Alex Blake had Vince (57) lbw to claim his first wicket in first-class cricket and Pothas went on to make 78 before he gave Malinga Bandara his first wicket.Bandara’s success came at a heavy price, his solitary wicket costing 167 runs as the most successful of a disjointed attack. Kent showed no stomach for a fight when they began their second innings so far adrift.Key had made only four when he was forced to leave the crease and he could be out for three weeks with his broken finger. Without their captain Kent showed little spirit with Joe Denly and Geraint Jones both departing with the total on 14.Sam Northeast fell with the total on 59 and James Hockley to a diving catch by Michael Carberry at backward point 19 runs later. Blake edged James Tomlinson to the wicketkeeper with the total on 114 and Bandara was the next to depart at 145, leg before to spinner Danny Briggs the ball after hitting the same bowler for six.As the wickets tumbled around him Van Jaarsveld held firm, putting on 27 with Cook as defeat loomed.
