Menos de uma hora depois de perder o jogo de ida da quarta fase da Copa do Brasil, por 2 a 1, para o Atlético-PR, Diego Aguirre apareceu tranquilo para dar entrevista coletiva. O técnico ressaltou seu otimismo com o São Paulo e apontou esse sentimento mesmo se recusando a dar, por exemplo, a grama sintética da Arena da Baixada como explicação para os erros mostrados pelo time – especificamente, Rodrigo Caio ao deixar Pablo livre no primeiro gol rival.

-Não temos desculpa nenhuma. São coisas que acontecem, temos de assumir nossos erros e melhorar, trabalhar para que não aconteça. Há erros e temos de melhorar. Cada jogador tem de melhorar seu nível e também nós temos de fazer um grande jogo como penso que podemos mostrar – indicou o treinador.

Estamos em momento de dificuldade, mas estamos trabalhando muito, treinando bem, sinto que jogadores estão mentalizados, querendo sair de uma situação difícil – disse, confiante para o jogo de volta, no Morumbi.

Jejum na Arena da Baixada
É uma coisa curiosa. Há muita história, são muitos jogos, e não sei o que aconteceu. Gostaria de ter ganhado hoje, não foi possível, mas o importante não era ganhar hoje, mas classificar. Estamos com essa intenção.

Três zagueiros
Toda mudança precisa de tempo, passo a passo. Os três zagueiros não são a solução, mas uma possibilidade. Podemos usar qualquer sistema, precisamos trabalhar dependendo do jogo e da circunstância.

Cueva no banco
São alternativas que temos. Optamos por deixar o Cueva para o segundo tempo. Teremos diferentes possibilidades com Nenê, Tréllez… Decidimos que, neste jogo, era melhor o Cueva não iniciar. Logicamente, é um bom jogador e pode ajudar.

Jogo contra o Rosario Central, no dia 12
Conhecemos bastante os times argentinos, um conhecimento bastante real da situação de cada time. Não falarei detalhes. Será um jogo difícil, tanto como o de hoje. É um estádio com a torcida forte. Precisamos estar preparados para superar as dificuldades. É um time forte, mas também somos, e queremos ter sucesso nessa competição.

Shahid Afridi, the Pakistan captain, had warned Pakistan against taking Kenya lightly, saying the team would have to be at full strength for its opening World Cup encounter.”It’s good to hear that the opposing captain has respect for the Kenyan team,” Tikolo told reporters in Hambantota. “I’ll pass that message to the boys so obviously tomorrow the guys will be pumped up. We are here for look to play good cricket and be competitive.”Kenya suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of New Zealand in Ahmedabad in their first game of the World Cup, capitulating for 69 before being thrashed by 10 wickets. Tikolo, while admitting there were a number of inexperienced players in the side, was confident of his team’s ability to spark a revival.”We have a good side a mixture of experience and youth. We have quite a number of young players who have not played in a World Cup before, but very talented.”The teams that we had in the previous World Cups were teams that had played together since 1996 to 2003 and had gelled well. But if you look at this team we’ve been together for a short while but it’s a talented side,” he said.Kenya was one of the strongest Associate members of the ICC, but since 2003 they’ve experienced a decline. “We did well in the 2003 World Cup, qualifying for the semi-finals, but we had our own internal problems. Obviously things could have been handled better management wise but right now I don’t really want to dwell into that. I just want to look at this World Cup and move forward from there.”Tikolo, last year, had indicated he would not play international cricket again after a dispute with the board but was back in the frame for a place in the national team in August. “What brought me back is the pride of playing for my country,” said Tikolo. “I’ve been around this team for long and playing for this team gives me a lot of pride.”This is Tikolo’s fifth World Cup and the highlight so far for him was Kenya’s defeat of West Indies in 1996 in Pune. “It’s special to win against any Test team but for me what stands out is the 1996 win against the West Indies simply because it was our first time at the international scene and most of us growing up had looked at West Indies as our role models.”Just to be on the same ground with them was something special and to beat them was extra special.”When asked about the ICC’s plan for a ten-team World Cup in 2015, Tikolo said the best way for Associate teams to improve was to play cricket at the highest level on a more regular basis “We don’t want to dwell on that right now. Tomorrow we just need to go out and believe in ourselves and our skills and play positive cricket.”Sri Lanka weren’t a top side in the world but once they got opportunities you can see what Sri Lanka is today. Bangladesh they were not a strong side but once they got Test status you see what cricket they are playing right now. It’s about playing more games at the top level and playing against better opposition that makes you better.”Tikolo filled in for Kenya captain Jimmy Kamande at the press conference. Kamande was unable to speak to reporters after being hit on the face during throwdowns at practice. However, he’s been ruled fit for Wednesday’s fixture.”Jimmy had swelling on his right cheek and he was unable to talk and did not attend the media conference,” Kenya’s team manager Arjun Vidyarthi said. “Jimmy is being treated with ice and the injury is not all that serious. He will be fit to lead Kenya in their match tomorrow.”

وتابع: “العرض على طاولة كريستيانو رونالدو وتم زيادته من قبل نادي النصر ليصل إلى 200 مليون يورو في الموسم الواحد بجانب الحوافز وبعقد حتى يونيو 2025، تلك هي التطورات الجديدة”.

وكانت صحيفة “ماركا” أعلنت اليوم الثلاثاء أن عرض النصر السعودي هو الأفضل من الجانب المالي لرونالدو وأن اللاعب سوف يناقشه عقب قضاء اجازة أعياد الميلاد في دبي.

ويرتبط النصر السعودي بتسجيل كريستيانو رونالدو في كشوفاته في يناير المقبل، في حال توصله لاتفاق مع اللاعب وذلك بدلا من لاعبه الحالي الأرجنتيني بيتي مارتينيز.

اختتم الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بالنادي الأهلي، استعداداته لمواجهة سيراميكا كليوباترا بخوض مرانه الأخير اليوم على ملعب مختار التتش بالجزيرة.

Amid all the discussion and debate about the structure of future World Cups, and whether Associates will retain a place in the tournament, it’s worth remembering one team who almost completed a remarkable journey to the current event. Afghanistan finished fifth in the qualifying tournament two years ago, enough to earn ODI status but agonisingly short of being one of the four extra teams in the subcontinent.Nobody is quite sure what the future holds for Afghanistan cricket; whether they were riding on the crest of a wave – both in terms of the emotion behind their success and a talented group players who came together at the right time – or whether there is a real chance of them developing into a fully-fledged cricketing nation. Regardless, though, they deserve the chance to try again.Hamid Hassan, 23, is one of their poster boys and marquee players, an opening bowler with an ODI average of 20.86 and Twenty20 economy rate of under a run-a-ball. He has time on his side and is desperate that the ICC don’t close off the World Cup to the Associate and Affiliate nations.”We were so close to getting into this year’s tournament, just one win away, and we’d be very disappointed if he didn’t have another chance,” Hassan told ESPNcricinfo. “I know ICC have announced the next tournament will be 10 nations, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to not let the Associates in. Hopefully we get a chance to qualify.”A year ago Afghanistan were the talk of the town as they took on India and South Africa during the group stage of the World Twenty20 in the Caribbean. There was no fairytale upset, but they certainly weren’t embarrassed in either match. However, in recent months they have drifted into the background with the focus of the world game elsewhere and are now entering a crucial phase to determine which direction the sport heads in the country.”Facilities are getting better for us and hopefully over the next year the grounds will be ready. There is a huge passion for the game in Afghanistan,” Hassan said. “But Afghanistan needs to play more cricket like Ireland, Canada and Kenya do. It’s the only way we will get better.” Currently, Afghanistan’s ODI status runs until 2013 but there aren’t many teams queuing up to play them.Hassan, and team-mate Mohammad Nabi, will have a chance to fly the flag for Afghanistan cricket when they appear for MCC against Nottinghamshire in Abu Dhabi from Sunday. The match is again being played with a pink ball under lights as part of the MCC’s drive to examine the possibilities of day/night Test cricket. It won’t gain the same following as last year’s inaugural game as the novelty factor is no longer there, while there is the smaller matter of World Cup semi-finals taking place, but for Hassan it’s an important occasion.He was part of the MCC groundstaff in 2006 along with Nabi and has never been one to hide his ambitions. He has previously spoken about a dream of playing county cricket and although nothing has materialised as yet it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that the chance could arrive. Hassan is gunning for some Nottinghamshire wickets and hoping to help his cause.”I’d love to have the chance to play county cricket and maybe if I do well in this game against Nottinghamshire somebody will spot me,” he said. “I just want to play cricket at the highest level possible. It’s a huge part of my life.”Hassan will be taking the field with Rahul Dravid and former Australia opener Chris Rogers alongside England wicketkeeper Steven Davies. Nottinghamshire are short of full strength but have a decent batting line-up including Samit Patel who was publicly criticised by Andy Flower, the England coach, over his fitness after being left out of the World Cup squad and will want to begin the domestic season next month in good form.

Sem encontrar um táxi que os levassem embora, eles tiveram de ser ajudados por dois torcedores do próprio Boca, para evitar problemas.

Boa parte das ruas no entorno da Bombonera ficam fechadas para a passagem de carros antes da partida. O acesso é liberado depois disso, mas as ruas são escuras e com pouca movimentação. Funcionários do estádio recomendam que se ande cerca de quatro quadras para conseguir um carro.

Durante este caminho, os dois palmeirenses tiveram dificuldades para encontrar um táxi. Eles durante a caminhada foram se aproximando de um local com argentinos, que já mostravam incômodo com a presença dos brasileiros.

Foi então que surgiram os dois torcedores do Boca, um deles acompanhado de seu filho, que ofereceram carona até o hotel em que o Palmeiras estava hospedado. Para retribuir o gesto, o diretor os presenteou com a camisa do Verdão e deixaram os dois escolherem um jogador para tirar foto: Felipe Melo.

O histórico resultado de quarta-feira foi a primeira vitória palmeirense na Bombonera e deu ao time a classificação antecipada às oitavas de final da Libertadores. O Verdão lidera o grupo 8, com 10 pontos.

Um grupo de torcedores do Vasco, chamado Orgulho Vascaíno, promoveu nesta quarta-feira um evento beneficente em Nova Iguaçu. O intuito era comemorar os quatro anos do grupo e arrecadar alimentos para uma instituição de caridade.

O evento contou com mensagens do lateral-direito Yago Pikachu, que fez um vídeo parabenizando o grupo e convocando os torcedores a estarem presentes na partida decisiva diante do Racing (ARG), nesta quinta-feira, às 21h30, em São Januário.

ESPNcricinfo staff01-Apr-2011Kevin Pietersen believes a stint at the IPL would have provided the ideal warm-up to England’s international summer, but instead of playing for Deccan Chargers he is continuing his recovery from a double hernia in the slightly cooler surroundings of The Oval.Pietersen’s late-summer loan deal from 2010 was made into a permanent move to Surrey during the winter as he finally found himself a county having departed from Hampshire mid-season. However, although he appeared in his Surrey kit on Friday for the annual photocall it will be a while until he takes the field.His target remains the first Test against Sri Lanka at Cardiff, starting on May 26, but he is frustrated at having to sit out IPL 4 which starts on April 8 – the same day as Pietersen’s Surrey team-mates will be starting their Championship campaign against Northamptonshire.”If I was fully fit I’d be on a plane tomorrow back to India for the IPL which I’m really going miss, it’s a great tournament and would have been a really good lead up into the Test series having played international standard cricket,” he told Surrey TV. “But it’s lovely to be home and back in my own bed finally. We’ve had a real long winter, a gruelling schedule, and I think everyone is glad to be home.”Pietersen’s winter ended earlier than England’s World Cup campaign when he flew home following the group match against South Africa. At the time his departure was treated with a certain amount of scepticism – Andy Flower, the England team director, said he’d hoped Pietersen could ‘bite the bullet’ – but the subsequent surgery showed the problem was more severe than first thought.”Against South Africa I just couldn’t run anymore,” he said. “I thought I had just one hernia which I knew about on the left hand side, but I found out I had a double when the surgeon opened me up. So it was no surprise I couldn’t run and no surprise the painkillers weren’t working.”Pietersen won’t be rushing into any comebacks with bad memories of the problems he encountered recovering from his Achilles surgery in 2009 when the wound became infected and forced him back to hospital.”I’m just guided by the doctors and physios. Nothing has changed, I’m looking to get back for the first Test,” he said. “That’s my goal and hopefully I don’t have any hiccups like the last time with my Achilles.”
