Shane Watson, the Australia allrounder, has talked up his side’s chances at the upcoming World T20 in Bangladesh. The World T20 is the only major global title that Australia have never won, coming closest to victory in 2010, when they went down to England in the final.Watson, who has been part of all four World T20s so far, said Australia have never been better placed to succeed in the tournament. “More than anything we’ve got the most balanced side that I’ve ever been involved with and a balanced squad,” Watson said ahead of the second Twenty20 against South Africa in Durban.”We really do have firepower consistently all the way down our batting order till No. 10 even, and bowling-wise we’ve got options from high-quality opening bowlers to high-quality death bowlers, high-quality spinners.”Watson was confident the current squad could adapt to the subcontinental conditions in the World T20. “I think the versatility of this squad (is) more than any squad that I’ve played Twenty20 cricket for Australia. Certainly in all conditions against any opposition we can match up really well, I think it gives us more of a chance to be able win it.”Australia have a number of impact players in the squad, including David Warner and Mitchell Johnson, who are in the form of their lives. Watson himself was Man of the Series in the 2012 World T20 and player of the tournament in last season’s IPL. “Twenty20 cricket certainly is fickle but if you have got a lot of match-winners in your team, you have got more chance of it being someone’s day, we’ve certainly got that in our squad for sure.”Australia have two Twenty20s left against South Africa before they fly to Bangladesh, where their campaign begins with a match against Pakistan on March 23.

هذا بالإضافة إلى سلوكه في الاحتفال، والذي كان بعيدًا عما هو متوقع من تمثيل الاتحاد الإسباني لكرة القدم أمام بقية العالم، لوجود لفتات فاحشة وانتشار بعض الصور المثيرة للجدل التي لا يمكن التسامح معها.

وسيعقد الاتحاد الإسباني لكرة القدم اجتماعًا استثنائيًا غدًا الجمعة، وعلى لويس روبياليس شرح تصرفه تجاه اللاعبة جيني هيرموسو لحظة الاحتفال باللقب.

وقررت هيرموسو رفع دعوى قضائية ضد روبياليس، كما سيخضع لتحقيق من الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم “فيفا”.

Dwayne Bravo wants to bat higher in West Indies’ order as they aim to defend their World T20 title with Sunday’s opener against India looming. Bravo, who hit 43 off 31 balls in the warm-up win over Sri Lanka, believes that a move up will allow him his desired role as the fulcrum of the West Indies’ middle-order.”In this format of the game, I always fancy myself batting higher and as early as possible to give myself that extra time to get set and take the game right down to the end [of the innings],” he said. “Obviously, we have a lot of power-hitters in our line-up but my role is to hold the middle and help us lay a good foundation.”Bravo pointed to Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons and Andre Russell as the batsmen he would be able to take on the responsibility of big-hitting as he felt his best role was as a “stabiliser” in the team. He praised the openers, Chris Gayle and Dwayne Smith, for relieving the pressure off the middle-order and thinks they will be a key duo, particularly by allowing him to bat freely in the crease.However, Bravo added that all the batsmen were high on confidence after series win at home against England, followed by warm-up wins against England and Sri Lanka in Bangladesh, and thinks that his team have already adjusted to the World T20 conditions.”It’s good to win these practice games and we’re looking forward to Sunday [against India]. We left the Caribbean after winning the series against England with good momentum and after these warm-ups, we feel confident and reassured as these are the conditions we’ll be playing the big games in. We expect the conditions to be good for batting. It’s a bit on the slower side so try not to be predictable as a bowler.Bravo also said that while focus would be placed on their spin bowlers, one player who would be a huge asset would be left-arm seamer Krishmar Santokie for his variations, swing and slower-balls. Bravo believed that Santokie, coupled with Samuel Badree and Sunil Narine, was one of their most formidable T20 bowling attacks to date.West Indies, though, are aware of the dangers of becoming complacent but added that their experience in T20 cricket would counter this, especially as the core of the 2012 title-winning squad was still intact.”Compared to the last World Cup, this one is harder as it is fewer games and we are in a tough group,” he said. “We still have most of our players [from 2012] and we’re not going to get ahead of ourselves. But we’re playing good cricket and once we continue to show this form, we’ll fancy our chances to defend the title. It might be the last World Cup for some of us in this format of the game.”

وكان الجهاز الفني لمنتخب جنوب إفريقيا قد استدعى بيرسي تاو للقائمة النهائية خلال فترة التوقف الدولي.

The chasing team, if they take a few extra deliveries to get home, can still push their NRR up to the required fraction if they manage to achieve a final score that is sufficiently higher – by finishing things off with a boundary.Mumbai Indians, despite failing to score that all-important extra run off 14.3, had already inched ahead of Rajasthan Royals’ NRR when they had drawn level on 189. At that stage, Mumbai Indians’ NRR read 0.078099, while Royals’ was 0.076821. Had Mumbai Indians just run the single they needed for victory off the fourth ball, though, their NRR would have gone below that of Royals’.Since they were using the extra ball, they would have needed to get their score up to at least 191 off that delivery. Running two was not an option, as they needed just the one run to win. So their only option was to hit a boundary.However, had they played out a dot ball, they still would have not been out of it. They could have hit a four off 14.5 or 14.6 and still finished with a NRR better than that of Royals. If they played out three dots, they would have needed to hit a six off 15.1 to bump their NRR up above Royals’. If this had happened, Mumbai would have ended with a NRR of 0.080519 against Royals’ 0.074163.

Pela manhã, apenas avaliações e trabalho com bola no gramado, já no período da tarde, além de um leve aquecimento, ainda deu tempo de o técnico Fábio Carille comandar um coletivo em campo reduzido, em que esboçou times titular e reserva.

No entanto, algumas ausências foram sentidas no gramado, como a de Michel Macedo, que ainda se recupera de contratura na coxa direita, a de Clayson, cujo motivo não foi informado, Romero, que está acompanhando a seleção paraguaia na Copa América, e Renê Júnior, que está em período de transição, e fez um trabalho à parte com o preparador físico Luciano Rosa.

O atacante paraguaio é aguardo no treino desta terça-feira pela manhã no CT Joaquim Grava, e cumprirá contrato com o clube até o dia 14 de julho. Já os outros atletas ainda não têm previsão de voltar a treinar com o grupo. Fagner e Cássio, por sua vez, ainda estão com a Seleção Brasileira da disputa da Copa América e devem demorar para se reapresentar.

Os atletas que estiveram em campo, fizeram um aquecimento leve e logo em seguida tiveram movimentação com a bola em pequenos grupos, enquanto isso os goleiros treinaram em um gramado separado. A atividade faz parte do processo de readaptação na volta da folga, com jogadores retomando a parte física sempre em trabalhos com a bola, como adiantou o preparador Walmir Cruz, em entrevista coletiva antes do treinamento.

Após o término dessa atividade, Fábio Carille levou o grupo para outro gramado, e dividiu os jogadores em dois times que fizeram uma espécie de treino coletivo em campo reduzido, sem goleiros. Mesmo assim, foi possível ter uma ideia do esboço de time com que o treinador trabalha para este início de período de treinamentos. Veja como estavam as escalações:

Do outro lado da chave, estão Corinthians e Grêmio, que fazem a primeira partida da semifinal na sexta-feira, às 21h30, em São Paulo. As quatro equipes estão na disputa do título da primeira edição do Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-17.
